Upcoming Impacts

1800 North

Side street closures are planned on the north side of 1800 North:

  • 810 West is currently closed through June 20.
  • 725 West will be closed June 23-27.
  • 550 West is currently closed through July 11.

Current side road closures on 1800 N

Additional side street closures are possible along 1800 North between Main Street and 2000 West. When closed, follow the posted detour signs to access the neighborhood streets.

Work near the railroad tracks continues through June 25, 24-hours daily for utility installation under the railroad tracks.

Ongoing Impacts

I-15

I-15 northbound has been reduced to 11' lane width. Wide loads should use caution driving through the area.

In the area east of I-15, crews are building up the road and installing new retaining walls for the new interchange, as well as installing new water, sewer, and storm drain lines under the future I-15.

Main Street

Traffic has been shifted to the east side of Main Street between 2000 North and 1600 North while crews remove the old road and install new water lines.

Utility and other work continues on the shoulders of Main Street. Drivers and pedestrians should use caution in work areas and be prepared for shifting traffic patterns. Watch for closures and follow detour signs.

1800 North

Utility work continues along the entire corridor with the dozens of utility companies with infrastructure along 1800 North.

From the driver’s eye view, this can look like repetitive work – digging up a trench, laying pipe, compacting it, and doing it all over again for the next service. The network of pipes and conduit under the road can be as congested as the cars that drive on top of it. Additionally, utilities have spacing requirements to keep clearance from other pipes in their final placement.

It is critical to complete this work before pavement replacement to prevent future impacts to the roadway.

Area residents may experience an increase in construction related noise, dust, and vibration.

Road Closures

475 West

Through July, 475 West will be closed at 1800 North while crews work in bore pits to run utility lines under the railroad tracks. While 475 West is closed, please use 400 West and 1600 North as a detour route.

475 West is closed at 1800 North while crews install a new water line. This is the detour map showing 475 West closed and traffic detouring to 400 West.

Sunset City Central Park

Access to the Sunset City Central Park will have short-term access closures on 1800 North while crews install a new water line on the south side of 1800 North. When the driveway is closed, use 250 West to 1675 North to access the park.

Detour map for Sunset City Central Park. The 1800 North accesses will be closed while work takes place and drivers should use 250 West to 1675 North to access the park.
